It’s not unusual in Hollywood for one celebrity’s property to sell to another. As such, when I found out that singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson purchased Ashley Tisdale’s former home, I was not surprised but was certainly intrigued as to how the “You and I” singer would approach the home styling and decor.
Located in the Outpost Estates neighborhood of Los Angeles, Michaelson purchased the 3 bed, 3.5 bath houe from Tisdale back in 2019. She recently partnered with celebrity designer Francesca Grace, who counts Hilary Duff, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys, and more among her clients, to decorate the space.
The results? A soft, neutral, organic modern oasis, where natural light seeps through the windows and warm accents add to the existing 1920s Andalusian architectural details. Let’s explore the space.
It wouldn’t be a musician’s home without a music room, which in this case function equally for playing as they do as decor. The grand white piano catches light from its adjacent windows, while the beige curtains add dimension to the otherwise white space.
The bedroom is the definition of sanctuary, thanks to neutral, layered bedding, a soft, patterned rug, and hanging light. Texture truly meets tranquility in this area of the home.
The tub is a clear highlight of the property. Its sleek, white base is accented by a gold spout, while the geometric, black and white chandelier contributes to the overall contemporary feel.
Meanwhile, the living room is a masterclass in decorating with neutrals. The taupe sofa is adorned with brown and white throw pillows, along with a striped blanket, while the wood coffee table has two delicately placed gold candlesticks and a black-and-white vase accessorizing it. The neutral artwork hanging above the sofa and large plant next to it make the space feel earthy and natural.
Moving on to the dining room, we love how modern and natural pieces are fused to create harmony and balance. The rattan dining chairs keep the organic ambiance of the rest of the space flowing, while the black, abstract chandelier draws the eye to it with leading lines and subtle bulbs. A white vase containing a dried bouquet serves as a magnificent centrepiece.
The kitchen incorporates some color in the form of navy blue cabinets. Wood, gold, and white continue to make their presence known, while black-and-white tiles add some modish flair to the room.
We love a breakfast nook, and Michaelson’s is giving us some serious inspiration. Framed artwork on the wall hangs above a plush bench (accessorized with plenty of throw pillows, naturally), while wicker seating provides plenty of visual interest.
Finally, the outdoor area is primed for entertaining. A long table has been set up under a gorgeous pergola, with vines crawling up the walls and blue tiles marking the pool area.
